Review Session Details
- Flynn's Module 1 and Module 2 course material will be taught during this session. Lessons will be taught using Midterm problems.
- Drawing resonance forms, resonance hybrids and finding major/minor resonance forms
- Problem solving acid-base questions: justifying acidity, finding dominant charged forms based on pH, finding the equilibrium direction
- Drawing energy diagrams and transition states
- Relating energy diagrams to rate of reaction
- Carbocation properties and stability and 1,2-shifts for carbocations
- Evaluating various leaving groups (L.G.), making OH groups into L.G.
- SN1/SN2 mechanism breakdown into simple steps
- Drawing SN1 and SN2 molecular orbitals and stereochemistry
- Major and minor products for E1
- solvent effects on rate of reactions
